jeans are different.they are not going to shrink a whole size so i wouldn't worry about it.they might even be too big for you after you wash and dry them several times.they are not cotton.
My experience with denim has always been that the shrinkage isn’t permanent because cotton is a fabric that’s naturally flexible. Your clothes will stretch back out after you wear then for a bit. I have a pair of jeans that fit perfectly for the first couple of hours out of the dryer, and then they stretch right back out to being too big.
Depends on who made them. If they were made from preshrunk material (as will more expensive clothing) no, there's will be none or minimal shrinkage. Even denim will tighten in the wash and dry cycle but will stretch out as you wear it. So don't epect much shrinkage........half size at best.
If you wash or rinse them and then dry them in the dryer on a hot setting they will shrink. YES! they are cotton...or if they are stretch denim they will be a cotton blend. It is safe to try it.
