Hello all you little tweetdecks. Netroots Nation is over, and I am hung-over and traveling on a bus through the great sprawling flatlands of the Midwest. The bus driver keeps yelling, but not at me, so I guess it’s okay. ANYWAY. Yesterday was a long, long day that began with my panel, Queer Media and the Alternative Revolution (which was not videoed but instead live-tweeted , also here ) and ended with the Daily Kos official Netroots afterparty , which featured an open bar and lots and lots of older people getting drunk and dancing in business casual. Needless to say, I fit right in, and now I have this phone number on my arm in what appears to be permanent marker, and it says “ANDREW BLOG” under it, so I guess that means my networking attempts were a success.

In a world where gender equality is becoming ever more important ladies business suits have made it possible for women to present themselves in a professional manner equal to that of their male counterparts while still maintaining a fashionable and feminine look. This is been a great step forward for women in the world of business.

While ladies business suits are great way for a woman to boost her confidence and her professional appearance there are some things to keep in mind. For one thing it is possible to overdo it and end up looking too formal and coming off as being cold and unapproachable....

Seriously, the whole thing gives well-meaning white liberals a bad name.

$5 million is a lot of money. Didn’t that trigger any red flags for anyone at NPR Foundation – why didn’t they ask around town or dig around online to understand this fake organization and its false representatives? DC is small. It’s really not that hard! It’s called Google.

I save my highest disgust for the brother in this video – “Amir Malik” – whose fake Arab/African accent is too pitiful for words. All of the people in this video, every single one of them, make me sick.

The fact is that Muslims ARE facing discrimination and outlets like NPR which has re-vitalized itself in the age of the internet can indeed play an important role in educating the nation. NPR has long promoted American tolerance, understanding of our rich & diverse culture and national unity in a gentle, persistent way. My father used to listen to NPR all day everyday and his old radio is still tuned to AM 1500, 20 years after his death. So I know what NPR is all about.
